APA INFORMATION HOTLINE
This is APA Communications Director Gregg Overman with the APA Information Hotline for Friday, Nov. 2.
NEGOTIATING UPDATE: The APA Negotiating Committee reports that they have met every day this week with management and for 26 of the past 28 days. In characterizing the negotiations, the committee notes that progress continues and that the pace of negotiations has not slowed. However, as is often the case, the important final issues take a bit longer to conclude. As talks continue the committee is keeping the APA Board of Directors regularly updated. The Negotiating Committee further reports that they are “burning the midnight oil” as needed to bring an industry-standard agreement to the APA Board of Directors for review. The committee will provide a more detailed membership update within the next few days.
APA EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND: The APA National Officers and domicile representatives have received a variety of requests for assistance as the full impact of this week’s storm becomes apparent. If you would like to help fellow pilots who have lost their homes or experienced other serious losses as a result of the storm, we encourage you to contribute to the APA Emergency Relief Fund. We will be establishing a PayPal link on alliedpilots.org shortly for contributions. In the interim, you may send a check to APA Secretary-Treasurer First Officer Scott Shankland at 14600 Trinity Blvd., Ste. 500, Fort Worth, TX 76155-2512 made out to “APA Emergency Relief Fund.”
APA BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING: The APA Board of Directors continued closed-session negotiating strategy discussions today with members of the Negotiating Committee, Bankruptcy Advisory Committee and Scope Committee. Also today, the Board approved a motion to provide the Equity Distribution Committee Ad Hoc with $50,000 in funding for the remainder of fiscal year 2013, which ends on June 30, 2013. The Board adjourned late this afternoon.
That’s it for now. Thanks for checking this hotline.
