APA INFORMATION HOTLINE

This is APA Communications Director Gregg Overman with the APA Information Hotline for Tuesday, Oct. 30.

OPTIONAL B PLAN CONTRIBUTION WITHDRAWAL FORMS: Please note that any pilot from any base completing a form for withdrawal of optional contributions from the B Plan may fax or e-mail the form to Ms. Diane Johnson at American Airlines at fax number 817-967-6335 or e-mail at Diane.Johnson@AA.com. It is not necessary to go through your local flight office (some local flight offices are closed due to the storm affecting much of the eastern United States).

Deadline for receipt of the form by American Airlines is 3 p.m. Central on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE STORM: Your APA leadership reiterates the offer of assistance to pilots in the storm’s path. We encourage you to contact your domicile representatives or your Family Awareness regional coordinator if you or members of your family need help. Above all, take appropriate precautions and heed the recommendations of public-safety officials in your area.

MARKETING CANCELLATION PAY PROTECTION: Management has announced that sequences cancelled in full due to the winter storm from Oct. 28-31 will be covered under the provisions of 4.F., marketing cancellation pay protection. In addition, this protection will cover trips within this timeframe not otherwise covered by last trip of the month protection (4.E.). In announcing the pay protection, management indicated that “although these sequences would not be eligible for pay protection under the Green Book provisions we have elected to make an exception on a non-precedent basis due to the unique circumstances in this situation.”

PICKETING AT DFW: On Wednesday, Oct. 31, APA will conduct informational picketing at DFW Airport’s Terminal D. Picketing briefings will begin at 10 a.m. Central at the Grapevine Convention Center. Pilots will then be transported by chartered buses to DFW Airport. Participating pilots are asked to wear their uniforms, including jackets and hats. Lunch will be served at the Convention Center after the picketing event. For planning purposes, it is important that pilots sign up for this event. Click here to RSVP and click here for more information.

APA BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING: The APA Board of Directors will convene at 3 p.m. Central on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at union headquarters in Fort Worth for a special meeting, which is scheduled to continue until noon Central on Friday, Nov. 2.

That's it for now. Thanks for checking this hotline.
